The Central Differencing Scheme for 1-D Shallow Water Equations

  • The staggered form of central differencing scheme for solving 1-D shallow water equations is given in this paper.The scheme is based on the staggered form of central differencing for hyperbolic conservation laws given by Haim Nessyahu and Eitan Tadmor which could be transformed by shallow water equations under certain circumstance.The numerical experiments of dam-break have verified the feasibility and effectiveness of this approach.
