The Preparation and Characterization of PVDF/Al2O3 Hybrid Membranes

  • Nono-ATO(nonometer antimony tin oxide) was added directly to the casting solution of poly(vinylidene fluoride)(PVDF). PVDF/ATO hybrid membrane was prepared by using sol-gel method. The performance of the hybrid membrane was investigated by water flux,BSA retention,wetting,anti-fouling et al. The results indicated that flux of membranes increased constantly with the content of non-ATO. Maximum flux of membranes which was 317. 6 L·m-2h-1 was increased 50% compared with the flux of membranes without ATO when the content of non-ATO was 8%. BSA retention of membranes also increased significantly. Maximum BSA retention of membranes which was 93. 3% increased by 30% compared with the flux of membranes without ATO when the content of non-ATO was 6%. Wetting and antifouling of membranes were also improved.
