Treating Methanol Wastewater by Immobilized Microorganis
-
Abstract
Treatment of methanol wastewater by immobilized microorganism is studied.First, with polyvinyl alcohol(PVA) and sodium alginate(SA) as the imbedding material, activated sludge is imbedded in the shape of ball to treat the methanol wastewater and both the advantages and disadvantages of embedding materials are compared.Second, the performance of immobilized ball is enhanced and the immobilized ball which is prepared with PVA-SA is choosed. The optimum imbedding conditions of this immobilized ball are determined: PVA10%,SA0.2%,sludge and embedded materials ratio 1:1 and linking time 24h.Finally,experiments choose the immobilized ball under the optimum conditions to treat methanol wastewater. The results show that the optimum conditions are pH7.0,HRT 6h.
