Analysis, calculating and measuring of acoustic source and acoustic field of a plane circular piston

Abstract
The acoustic source of plane circular pistons with the radiating transient pulse wave finds wide application in the ultrasonic inspection and test. This paper makes research into the method of calculating numeric value of acoustic field when the acoustic source of plane circular pistols shows the transient pulse wave. The relative special-purpose software is designed and the distribution of acoustic pressure on the axis of the pulse wave source is calculated and plotted in the light of computer and the software. The acoustic field of the pulse wave source is measured. The measuring value is in accordance with the calculating results on the whole. The calculating method is thus verified to be correct and scientific. The research achievements and the analysis ways in this paper provide scientific basis for improving accuracy in the related application.
