Effect of Methyl Cellulose on Preparation and Stability of Water-Soluble Painting Stripper

  • The experiment used the method of heating the water to make the MC dissolved easily and make the preparation simple. It found out that the state of MC in hot water solution would change with temperature reduction, and the result proved that it was favorable for the mixture and preparation of the MC and solvent when the MC formed mushy conglomeration at 60~67℃.The method of filter was used to determine relationship between mass fraction of MC and water retention property. The result showed that the higher amount of MC was used, the better its water retention property was.The relationship between the mass fraction of MC and viscosity in paint stripper was measured by rotating viscometer. It is showed that the viscosity increased with the amount of MC,and with the extension of storage time the viscosity would also increase.
