Preparation and structure characterization of triethylene-tetramine crosslinked chitosan

Abstract
C2-NH2 protected and C6-OH expoxidized Schiff-base chitosan(CTSO) was synthesized by the reaction of chitosan with benzaldehyde and epichlorohydrin.Triethylene-tetramine crosslinked chitosan Schiff base group(CCTSS) was synthesized by the reaction of CTSO with triethylene-tetramine.Triethylene-tetramine crosslinked chitosan was synthesized by removing Schiff base from CCTSS.The main intermediate products and the target product were confirmed by FT-IR spectral analysis,X-ray diffraction analysis and elemental analysis.The surface topography was determined with ESEM.
