The Influence of Shielding Gas Constitution on the Arc Volt-Amp Characteritics and Droplets Transfer in Pulsed MAG Welding

  • The arc Vol-Amp characteritics and the critical welding parameters forming pulsed rotating-spray transfer(PRST) in MAG welding with Ar+O2 and Ar+CO2 shieling gas were studied.It is shown that the position of the arc VoltAmpcharacteristic curve varied with the shielding gas constitution. The PRST is most easily formed with Ar+2%O2 shielding gas but cannot formed with Ar+20%CO2 shielding gas.
