A Study on Lift-off Effect of Eddy Current Sensors

    Abstract
  • It is shown that lift-off of the eddy current sensor relative to the part under evaluation induces similar straight lines in the normalized impedance plane by computation. The amplitude and the phase of impedance are measured by MCU. Consequently the lift-off effect can be corrected fairly thanks to impedance transformation in the impedance plane.
