Preparation and Mechanical Performance of Al2TiO5/Al2O3 Composite

Abstract
The effect of MgTi2O5 and Fe2TiO5 compound additives on the mechanical performance of Al2TiO5/Al2O3 composites was studied through orthogonal test.The Al2TiO5/Al2O,composite with optimum mechanical performance was prepared when 5mol% Mg-Ti2O5 and lmol% Fe2TiO5 were added to Al2TiO5.Based on this test,Al2TiO5/Al2O,composites with different Al2O3 volume contents(10%、20%、40%、60%、80%、90%) were fabricated and the microstructures were studied by SEM.The density,strength and elastic modules of the composites were improved with the increase of Al2O3 volume content.When the volume content of Al2O3 increased from 10% to 90%,the three-point bending strength increased from 16.25Mpa to 272.05Mpa.
