A simple method for evaluating the fracture toughness of Al-Cu-Fe-B quasicrystal
A simple method,which is used to test the fracture toughness for Al59Cu25.5Fe12.5B3 quasicrystals,was introduced.According to the Vickers microhardness and radial crack size tested by scanning electron microscopy (SEM),the fracture toughness of this quasicrystal is evaluated as 1.34 MPam-1/2.The results are basically consistent with those reported in other literatures.
