Effect of RE on the Microstructures and Properties of Hot-dip Aiuminized Coatings

  • The effect of adding various contents of rare carth on microstrures and properties of hot-dip aluminized coatings are studied.The thickness of coatings,the corrosion resistance and adhesion of the dripped specimen are examined in different conditions.The result shows that addition of 0.05~0.75%RE into the melted Al can improve the surface oxiding sistance and surface quality of dipped specimen.when addition of RE ranges from 0.05 to 0.2%,It can enhance the corrosion resistamce of the coating against the salt water(3%NaCl) immersion and salt spray.But,the superabundant RE will impair the enhanament.
