Preparation, Mechanical Properties, Strengthening and Toughening Mechanisms of Si3N4/SiC nanocomposites

  • SiC nanosized particles into Si3N4 matrix can lead to a considerable improvement on its mechanical properties,which aroused great comcern among researchers.In this paper,the basic preparing process and mechanical properties for Si3N4/SiC nanocomposites are reviewed,the main reasons of the improvements in these properties are analyzed,and the mechanism of strengthening and toughening in this material are discussed.
