Finite Element Analysis on Creep Age Forming of the Welded Rib-Web Panels of 2A12 Aluminum Alloy

  • In order to effectively predict and describe the deformation behaviors in the process of creep age forming of the welded rib-web panels, the constitutive model for creep forming of the 2A12 aluminum alloy is established on the basis of the experimental data from creep tensile tests, and then an ABAQUS-based creep age forming numerical scheme is proposed and its feasibility is verified by experiments.The numerical results from creep age forming of the welded rib-web panels show that a better forming quality can be obtained with the increase of the creep time, the loading pressure, the rib height and the blank thickness, while there is insufficient deformation quality with the increase of the die radius and the rib width.
