The discussion on calculation of reinforcing bars in varied cross section by the element stiff matrix of the tapered member

In this paper,the element stiff matrix of the tapered member is used in calculating the internal forces of the varied cross section in the tapered member.Then,the amount of the reinforcing bars is determined through the ultimate internal forces.In our method,the influence of the varied cross section is considered.So it is more precise than the other ways and it can reflect the condition of the actual loads on the member objectively.
