Analysis of Vertical Load-transfer Mechanism for Taper-cylinder with Holes Combined Pipe-pile

  • To explore the bearing mechanism of taper-cylinder with holes combined pipe-pile, the double-broken-line load transfer model and the linear elastic load transfer model are respectively used for the pile-side soil and pile-tip soil. Analytical expressions for the vertical load-settlement relationship of the taper-cylinder with holes combined pipe-pile are derived based on the load transfer method. To verify the correctness of the theoretical derivation, numerical simulations were conducted using ABAQUS software. The results indicate that the theoretical derivation well matches the bearing behavior obtained in numerical simulations. The settlement of taper-cylinder with holes combined pipe-pile increases with the increased load, and the upper conical section can effectively improve the bearing performance. Moreover, as the taper of the upper section increases, the settlement reduction first rises and then declines.
