Research on Preparation and Anti-cracking Properties of Geocell-reinforced Asphalt Concrete

  • Under the background of current scarcity of building materials, this study explored the use of geocell reinforcement to extend the service life of asphalt pavement by combining common materials and improve the cracking resistance of asphalt pavement. In this research, the method of static pressing was used to prepare geocell-reinforced asphalt concrete beam specimens through self-designed molds, and then the bending creep tests at room temperature (15 ℃ and 30 ℃) were conducted to evaluate the effect of geocell reinforcement on the crack resistance of asphalt concrete. The results show that geocell reinforcement can inhibit the expansion of reflection cracks, prolong the bending creep process of asphalt concrete under constant load in flexural creep test, and reduce the flexural creep rate.
