Abstract
In recent years, the emergence of high-entropy oxides provides a novel conception for researching and developing new inorganic materials with excellent performance. In this work, (Ce0.2Pr0.2Nd0.2Sm0.2Y0.2)2O3 high-entropy rare earth oxide powders were prepared by solid phase reaction method. The effect of calcining temperature on the phase structure, phase transition rule and microstructure of (Ce0.2Pr0.2Nd0.2Sm0.2Y0.2)2O3 high-entropy oxides powders were systematically studied. The results show that cubic structure (Ia-3) alongside tiny amounts of second phase can be detected in the sample that calcined at 1300 ℃. When the calcination temperature is at 1500 ℃, (Ce0.2Pr0.2Nd0.2Sm0.2Y0.2)2O3 high-entropy rare earth oxide powders with single-phase cubic structure are obtained. Moreover, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Y and O uniformly distribute in the grains, indicating that the as-prepared (Ce0.2Pr0.2Nd0.2Sm0.2Y0.2)2O3 powders have typical characteristics of high-entropy rare earth oxide.
