Teaching Design and Practice of First-class Course for Engineering Majors from the Perspective of OBE ConceptTaking the “Environmental Analytical Chemistry” course as an example

  • Under the background of engineering education professional certification, it is of great practical significance to design the “First-class Course” guided by OBE concept and standardized by the characteristics of “high order” “innovative” and “challenging”, namely “Two features and one degree” as the criteria to improve the quality of students’ training. In view of the key issues such as how to organically realize the synergistic promotion of knowledge transfer, ability cultivation and moral character shaping, the “Environmental Analytical Chemistry” course team of Nanchang Hangkong University has been continuously constructing, improving and practicing the course over the years based on a student-centred and result-oriented approach. The curriculum objectives with “moral cultivation, knowledge application and ability training” as core and the curriculum teaching design ideas of “one standard, two guides, three drives and four integration” were established. On this basis, closely related to the actual problem scenario of environmental pollution analysis, the new curriculum content system of “One body and two wings” is reconstructed with the analysis and detection of pollutants in different types of environmental media as the main line, and a diversified curriculum achievement evaluation system is constructed. The course practice and research results show that the teaching design and implementation of the organizational way not only can achieve the course objectives, but also form a directional support for the graduation requirements of major indicators. In addition, the students’ learning initiative, innovation ability, teamwork ability have been significantly improved.
