Test and Numerical Analysis on Uplifting and Bearing Performance of Rock-socketed Piles with Equal Sections

  • In accordance with the dead load test of single rock-socketed uplift pile with equal sections completely socketed in the medium weathered rock on the site of some project, the teat data were analyzed. Based on the pile test and the physical mechanics parameters of the rock and soil in this project, the reasonable FLAC3D numerical calculation model of rock-socketed uplift piles with equal section was established. The load-displacement curve, axial force of the pile body and side friction resistance of the pile was obtained. The ultimate bearing capacity, load transfer performance and side friction resistance of rock-socketed uplift piles were also analyzed. The results show that the ultimate bearing capacity of rock-socketed uplift piles with equal sections obtained by numerical simulation can be 28.6% larger than the maximum load of the on-site test piles. As the uplift load of pile top increases, the lateral friction resistance of the rock-socketed uplift piles has its effect from the pile top to the pile tip. When the load is relatively small, the friction resistance of the pile tip fails to completely have its effect. With the ultimate uplift load, the side friction resistance of the pile shows approximate L-shaped distribution.
