The Adsorption Characteristics of Composite of 3Y-ZrO2/Chitosan

  • The composite of 3Y-ZrO2/chitosan was synthesized and its capacity of fluorinion removal from water was investigated in this study. The morphology of the material was found to be sheet, and its maximum adsorption capacity to fluorinion is 23.3 mg/g. The equilibrium adsorption isotherms fit well to Langmuir model, which indicated fluorinion was adsorbed in monolayer adsorption manner. The results of kinetic studies are found to be described very well by the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. The composite is easy to be prepared and costs lowly. Besides, the composite is environment-friendly.
