Effect of Homogebuzing Annealing Time on Corrosion Property of SiCp/Al Composite

Abstract
The effects of different annealing time on interfacial reaction of the composite were investigated at 600℃. SiCp/Al composite interface was studied by means of metallurgical microscope, SEM, EDS and XRD. Corrosion of SiCp/Al composite was studied by means of polarization cure. Experimental results show that:By different homogenizing annealing time of SiCp/Al composite materials, combined with SiC particles and matrix were better without holes, at the same time Si, MgAl4O2 and Al4C3 were produced, as the extension of heat preservation time growing white appearances, white appearances were Si. The corrosion process of SiCp/Al composite under different annealing was controlled by actibation. With increasing heat treatment time,corrosion potential was constant,corrosion rate of SiCp/Al composite was first decreasing and then increasing, At the time of 3 h corrosion rate was minimum,and corrosion current was minimum value5.3E-6 A/cm2, resistance value of EIS was first increasing and then decreasing, At the time of 3 h it was maximum value 3.41E4 Ω·cm2.
