Effect of Hydrothermal Treatment Temperature on Titanium Alloy Hydroxyapatite Growth

  • The micro-arc oxidation(MAO) films were prepared on Ti6Al4V in the Ca and P electrolyte, then the films were carried out hydrothermal treatment at 100 ℃,150 ℃,200 ℃and 250 ℃ for 12 hours. The micro-morphology was investigated by the scanning electron microscopy(SEM), energy dispersion spectrometer and X-ray diffraction were used to analyze composition and phases structure of the coatings . The results show that the temperature of hydrothermal treatment is an important factor affects hydroxyapatite growth. The hydroxyapatite crystals not find on the micro-arc oxide film surface after hydrothermal treatment at 100 ℃. The hydroxyapatite crystals grow bigger with hydrothermal treatment go up. The microscopic surface oxidation film changed from dense smooth to coarse loose, and the ratio of calcium and phosphorus is 1.48, 1.53 and 1.69, when hydrothermal treatment at 150 ℃, 200 ℃and 250 ℃.
