Effect of the Distance between Guide Vane and Cavity Forewall on Trapped Vortex Combustor

Abstract
In order to study the best structure of trapped-vortex combustor with inclined struts, numerical simulation of combustion turbulence flow was performed by changing size of guide vanes. The results show that the distance between guide vane and imported wall influences combustion efficiency, total pressure loss and combustor internal flow field manifestly when other conditions remain constant. In this paper, there is a relatively best structure of the guide vane where the total pressure loss is 7.7%, the combustion efficiency is 99.76% and stable double-vortexes structure form in the cavity.
