Calculation and Evaluation for the Strength and Vibration Characteristics of a Aero Engine Casing
-
Abstract
Focused on the demands of the high pressure compressor in the high pass ratio aero engine, finite element method was employed to evaluate the strength and vibration characteristics of the case component. The distributions of air pressure and temperature field of the case component were obtained through the aerodynamic and thermodynamic method. These loads were used during the static analysis on the case component. By considering the effects of the number of blades and the operating speed, the resonance vibrating of the case component was investigated based on the dynamic characteristics. According to the above analysis, the case component has sufficient strength redundancy in the environment of high temperature and high pressure. The safety margins of the casing resonant satisfy the requirement of the dynamical design.
