Structure and Wear Resistance of Micro-arc Oxide Film of Al thatDeposited on TC4 Alloy by Magnetron Sputtering Technology

  • In this paper, the properties of the micro-arc oxide coating of Al that deposited on the TC4 alloy by magnetron sputtering technology were researched through the comparison with the properties of TC4 micro-arc oxidation coating. The results revealed that, the surface of the micro-arc oxide film of Al that deposited by magnetron sputtering was more flat and more dense than that of TC4 micro-arc oxidation film and its hardness is 3.015 times of the hardness of TC4 micro-arc oxidation film. However, its substrate and coating binding force was lower than that of TC4 micro-arc oxidation film. Furthermore, compared with the TC4 micro-arc oxidation film, the abrasion resistance of the micro-arc oxide film of Al that deposited by magnetron sputtering was much better.
