Design of Multi-band Microstrip Antenna for WLAN/WiMAX

  • In this paper, we designed a novel high bandwidth and multi-band monopole antenna. Based on monopole antenna, the proposed method changes field distribution of various natural modes by attaching parasitic short circuit patch beside the main antenna and achieves multi-frequency, meanwhile widens the bandwidth. The antenna model is optimized and simulated by HFSS. The results show that the designed antenna enables to work in WLAN(Wireless Local Area Network) band(2.45 GHz and 5.2 GHz), WIMAX(World Interoperability for Microwave Access) band(2.59 GHz, 3.55 GHz and 5.55 GHz) and X band.
