Abstract:
The influences of CU-1 Y based heavy rare-earth elements on properties of Be-Cu alloy were studied. The results show that tiny RE addition can improve microhardness, wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the alloy in some extent and reduce the coefficient of thermal expansion of the alloy. The microhardness of the alloy increases with the increase of RE addition, but the wear loss, the corrosion rate and the coefficient of thermal expansion of the alloy decrease as Re addition increases. When Re addition increases further to 0.2%,the coefficient of thermal expansion rebounds.
