Abstract:
This paper uses the sychronous x-ray topography to study the whole process of the martensitic transformation in a single crystal CuZnAl shape memory alloy as a function of the cycling temperature. The results have shown that the martensitic transformation in this alloy is of thermal elasticity, however, induced dislocations by the thermal cycling are observed because of the interaction between the martensitic variants and parent phases.Furthermore,it is noted thst the density of these dislocations increases as the number of cycles augments.
