Thermal decomposition mechanism for cerium propionate

  • 摘要: 研究了丙酸铈的红外光谱,元素含量和热分解反应机理.结果表明,丙酸铈晶体含有5个水分子,其分子式为ce(CH3CH2COO)3)·5H20.丙酸铈晶体热分解过程分步完成:首先于40~95℃失去个水分子;然后于100~115℃再失去1个水分子;继之于120~230℃失去1个丙酸根,此时三价铈被氧化成四价;最后于340~390℃失去余下的2个丙酸根.热分解反应的最终产物为二氧化铈.

     

    Abstract: The infrared spectrum,element contents and reaction mechanism of thermal decomposition for cerium propionate crystal were investigated.The results indicated that cerium propionate crystal contained 5 water molecules,the molecular formula for cerium propionate crystal was Ce(CH3CH2COO)3)·5H2O.The thermal decomposition process for cerium propionate crystal was 4 steps,4 water molecules were lost at 40~95℃,then another water molecule was lost at 100~115℃,one of propionates was lost at 120~230℃ and the cerium(Ⅰ)was oxidized to ceric(Ⅱ)simultaneity,and the remaining 2 propionates were lost at 340~390℃.The final product was ceric dioxide.
