Abstract:
It had a great significance to analyse the composition and characteristics of municipal sewage sludge applied to cropland. The content of nutrients and heavy metals in the dewatered sludge of four typical urban sewage treatment plants of Nanchang within a year were analyzed. Results showed that pH of these municipal sewage sludges was ranged from 6. 5 to 7. 4 and the salinity was about 0. 025%~0. 157%,the moisture content of sludge was 72. 9%~85. 7%,organic matter was 22. 88%~45. 12%,total contents of N, P and K were 20. 02~31. 94 g·kg
-1,15. 02~21. 62 g·kg
-1 and 5. 63~8. 03 g·kg
-1. There was significant difference of organic matter content in sewage sludge between summer and winter. The total concentration of Cu, Zn and Pb of the four plants were much lower than the domestic and international agricultural sludge standards but the concentration of Cd in winter seasons exceeded the standard values for the pollutants in agricultural sludge A(CJ/T309-2009). Comprehensive analysis and results indicates that the moisture content and the concentration of Cd were the limiting factors of the municipal sludges for agricultural use.
