Abstract: The problems that need to be solved in the construction of first-class specialty in local universities has been analyzed under the background of new engineering, and the thoughts of first-class specialty construction has been expounded. Taking the metal Material Engineering major of Nanchang Hangkong University as an example, it innovatively researched and constructed three types of personalized training systems of “excellence type, order type, and top-notch type”, established a four-level innovation and entrepreneurship ability training system, namely, “diversification of classroom teaching mode, integration of science and education based on mentorship, projectized innovation and entrepreneurship competition, and integration production and education training of school and enterprise”, and established a three-dimensional collaborative professional characteristic development system of “collaboration between inside and outside class, collaboration between in-school and out-of-school, and collaboration between China and abroad”. The achievements of the construction of the first-class major have been shared, which provides a exploring reference for the cultivation of first-class material talents.
