Abstract: With the rapid development of new technology, there is more and more research aiming on intelligent materials, and the applications of intelligent materials are increasing. At the same time, the core development strategy of the country cultivates the ability of independent innovation. Therefore, in order to keep up with the changes of times, the teaching content and teaching methods of ‘intelligent materials’ course need to be constantly updated and improved. ‘Intelligent materials’ course is an important professional course of composite materials. However, “Intelligent materials” course has the characteristics of short class time, many contents, strong interdisciplinary, fast updating speed and so on. In order to improve the teaching quality, this paper deeply explores and analyzes the reform of the teaching content and methods. Through the innovation and reform of teaching, it stimulates students' interest in learning and cultivates their innovation ability.
