Abstract:
The tourist sign is an important part of the transportation facilities in a scenic area and is of great significance to guide self-driving tourists. This study is conducted by analyzing the two key technologies, which are the determination of the parameters of the plane graphics representing the features of the scenic spots (hereinafter referred to as the feature plane graphics) and the layout of the tourism signs. The quantification theory is proposed in this study to determine the width and height of the feature plane graphics under different design speeds; based on the classification of scenic spots, the minimum distance between consecutive tourist signs is determined, and the method for the location setting of tourist signs that integrates long-distance guidance, continuous guidance, and short-distance guidance information is established. The research results are applied to the Meiling Scenic Area and have been proved that the guidance of traffic has been effectively enhanced, the invalid traffic volume has been reduced and the tourists' traveling quality has been improved.
