Abstract:
The graphene-MoSi
2 composites were prepared by microwave sintering at 1 650℃. The rules of the mechanical properties and microstructure of the Graphene-MoSi
2 composites were studied with graphene volume fraction. The results revealed that the graphene had a good hardening and toughening effect on MoSi
2. Especially when the addition of graphene reached 5vol.%, the HV hardness, room fracture toughness and flexural strength reached 9.8 GPa、6.0 MPa·m
1/2、440.8 MPa, respectively. The room fracture toughness and flexural strength of the graphene-MoSi
2 composites were better than that of the pure MoSi
2. However, excessive graphene additions(>5vol.%)finally degraded the mechanical properties of the composites.
