Abstract:
The traditional design of foundation pit usually only consider the instantaneous deformation of foundation pit. However, a lot of engineering practices show that the deformation has obvious time effect. In this paper, soft soil creep constitutive model and Biot consolidation theory are used to research the behavior of excavation. Through the typical examples, we comparative analyzed the effects of creep and consolidation on foundation pit deformation. The results show that the foundation pit deformation laws of considering time-effect and without considering time-effect are close at the beginning of the excavation. However, with the increase of depth of excavation and march of time, the difference gradually produced. When considering the creep, pit deformation will continue to grow over time after excavation. When considering consolidation, with the march of time after excavation, the foundation pit in the soil rebound gradually because the negative pore pressure formed by the excavation unloading dissipate slowly.
