Determination of Copper and Nickel in Sodium Chloride by Standard Addition ICP-AES Method
-
Abstract
A standard addition inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) method has been established to determine copper and nickel in sodium chloride. The analytical spectral lines of copper and nickel in sodium chloride was Cu 327.395 nm and Ni 230.299 nm. The interference of sodium chloride matrix was eliminated by standard addition method, and the highly salt-resistant OneNeb nebulizer was used to increase the signal intensity. The preferred power of the high-frequency (RF) generator was 1.3 kW and the nebulizer gas pressure was 180 kPa. The results show that the calibration curves of copper and nickel are linear, and the linear correlation coefficient is above 0.999. The detection limit of copper is 0.000 011%, and that of nickel is 0.000 031%. The relative standard deviation (RSD, n=6) of the results is within 5%. The added standard recovery of the samples is in the range of 96.0% ~ 102.0%.
