Based of Transfer Path Analysis to Remediation Pickup Roar Problem

    • When a diesel pickup truck was on over 75% acceleration under the fourth gear or moved at a constant speed under the 3-5th gear, there was an obvious roaring sound inside it with the engine speed reaching the range of 1400~1500 r/min. The NVH conduction model was established by transfer path analysis method and CAE was used to help find the cause of the fault. It was found that the rear axle excitation caused the resonance roaring of the front coaming of the container and the rear coaming of the crew compartment. The modal of the front coaming of the container was changed by welding section bar to avoid resonance. The amplitude of the rear coaming of the crew compartment was reduced by attaching damping pad, and sound insulation cotton was added. These measures can effectively deal with the impact of the roar.
