Finite Element Analysis on Fracture Failure of Grinding Wheel Blade Under Different Loading

Abstract
To investigate the failure mechanism of the grinding wheel blade during the actual grinding process, the stress distribution of the grinding wheel blade under different loading conditions was analyzed using ANSYS finite element analysis software, and the failure reason was revealed. Firstly, the finite element model of grinding wheel blade is established. Then, centrifugal force, grinding force and end face force are applied to the grinding wheel model respectively to simulate the different stress conditions in actual operation. Finally, the changes of stress, strain and displacement under different stress states during the working process were analyzed and compared. The results show that the influence order on the stress of the grinding wheel is centrifugal force, end face force and grinding force respectively; the influence order on the strain of the grinding wheel is the end force, centrifugal force and grinding force respectively; the main factors causing the grinding wheel rupture are the large centrifugal force brought by excessive angular velocity and the end face force brought by end face grinding.
