Study on Evaluation Method for Peeling Performance of Strippable Cloth
-
Abstract
Floating-roller peelingtests on 47 batches of specimens prepared by different strippable cloth and prepregs were carried out according to ASTM D3167 in order to evaluate the difficulty of peeling strippable cloth from the surface of laminate. Linear correlation is found between mean value of peeling strength, mean value of peak peeling strength, mean value of valley peeling strength and mean value of peeling amplitude by regression analysis, and the square of the correlation coefficient is 0.991, 0.994 and 0.782, respectively. Mean value of peeling strength, mean value of peak peeling strength or mean value of valley peeling strength is considered as the main index for evaluating peeling performance, and mean value of peeling amplitude is considered as the secondary index. According to peeling strength and peeling amplitude, peeling performance can be divided into five grades, providing basis for strippable cloth selection.
