Fatigue Life Analysis of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Metal Matrix Composites

    • The SiC/TC17 shafts with different layer-paving angles and TC17 shaft were calculated and analyzed under the same torque. The fatigue life of SiC/TC17 shafts was estimated by local stress-strain method. The fatigue life characteristics of the SiC/TC17 shafts compared with TC17 shaft and the variation rule of fatigue life of SiC/TC17 shafts with layer-paving angle were studied. The results show that in the range of 0°~90°, the fatigue life of SiC/TC17 shafts first increases with the increase of layer-paving angle and reaches the maximum at 45°, and then it decreases with the angle rising. The fatigue life of cross-laying ±45° SiC/TC17 shaft is longer than that of unidirectional-laying 45° SiC/TC17 shaft.
