    Design and Analysis Tool for Stiffened Composite Panel Repaired by Bolted Joints

    • Finite element modeling and analysis for repaired composite structures is a complicated and elaborate process. A parametric modeling and analysis tool based on Abaqus for stiffened composite panel repaired by bolted joints was developed to improve the efficiency and fidelity of the design and analysis process. The tool includes graphic user interface, modeling and iterative analysis module, post-processing module, etc., and is capable of building a 3D finite element model quickly for a stiffened composite panel in repair and iteratively analyzing the panel strength to optimize the repair parameters. The comparison between the results of the failure loads predicted by this tool and those from experiments validated the reliability and fidelity of this tool for engineering applications.
