    Fracture Analysis of Air-compressor Rotor Blade of Aero-engine

    • The crack of an air-compressor rotor blade of aero-engine was analyzed. The failure mode and cause were found out by visual inspection, fracture analysis, surface inspection, metallographic examination, material analysis, chemical composition analysis as well as vibration stress distribution calculation of blade. The results indicate that the cracking of the air-compressor compressor rotor blade is high-cycle fatigue cracking. The residual original machining trace at the maximum vibration stress region is the main cause for the cracking of the blade. Finally, some measures were put forward to improve the surface integrity of the blades.
