Aging Behavior of Aeronautical Perspex in Accelerated Laboratory Conditions

    • Air aging, ultraviolet(UV) aging and salt spray tests were carried out on aeronautical perspex YB-DM-11. Tensile strength, light transmittance and silver mark resistance were used to study the aging rule of the aeronautical perspex in accelerated laboratory conditions. The results show that tensile strength showed an upward trend in the conditions of 95℃ air aging and UV aging, but it showed a downward trend in salt spray. The influence extent of accelerated conditions on tensile strength is in the following order:salt spray, UV aging and 95℃ air aging. The silver mark resistance showed an upward trend in conditions of 95℃ air aging and salt spray, but it showed a downward trend in UV aging. The influence extent of accelerated conditions on silver mark resistance is in the following order that UV aging, salt spray and 95℃ air aging. The accelerated conditions had no significant influence on light transmittance.
