Simulation Analysis the Performance of New Pulsed Remote Field Eddy Current Probe

    • Remote field eddy current (RFEC) technique is not restrict by the skin effect and becomes the top effective method to detect nonmagnetic plate with big thickness. On the basis of former research foundation, the design principle of new pulsed remote field eddy current probe used to detect nonmagnetic plate is introduced, and the performance of detecting different orientation defect and different thickness plate is analyzed. The result shows that response signal is induced by the disturbing of eddy current rather than magnetic with defect when this technique used to detect nonmagnetic material, which has a big difference from detecting ferromagnetic material. At the same time, this technique can be used to detect nonmagnetic plate with 25 mm thickness. This research explores the application of pulsed remote field eddy current using in aviation domain.
