    Failure Analysis and Treatment Stress Corrosion Cracks in Liquefied Petroleum Gas Spherical Tank

    • 摘要: 液化石油气球罐的运行安全关系重大。通过对在役球罐的历次无损检测结果对比,结合球罐中原油成分以及腐蚀部位材料的金相检测,对球罐产生的裂纹进行分析,找出裂纹产生的主要原因是由于硫化氢应力腐蚀开裂和应力导向氢致开裂共同作用的结果,并根据检测结果提出裂纹的相应处理方法以及针对腐蚀裂纹产生的预防措施。球罐在检测和修理后,投入使用一段时间再次开罐定期检验时,检验结果验证所提出处理方法的有效性,为该类应力腐蚀裂纹的处理和预防提供可靠参考。

       

      Abstract: The operational safety of liquefied petroleum gas spherical tank is very important. Through the comparison of the previous nondestructive testing results about in-service spherical tank, combined with the composition analysis about original oil in the tank and metallographic examination about corroded parts, analysis on cracks generated in the spherical tank was carried out. It is found that the synergism effect between stress corrosion cracking caused by hydrogen sulfide and stress-guided-hydrogen induced cracking mainly accounts for the crack genration. According to the testing results, corresponding treatment methods for cracks and prventive measures against corrosion cracking were proposed. After subjected to inspection and repair, the spherical tank was placed in service for a period of time and reopened for regular inspection. The inspection results verify the effectiveness of the proposed treatment method, which provides a reliable reference for the treatment and prevention of this kind of stress corrosion cracking.
