Abstract:
This paper proposes a methodology to assess water accumulation in the aluminum honeycomb sandwich panel based on the CR imaging system. According to the digital image quality of aluminum honeycomb sandwich panel, the exposure parameters were optimized. Then, the gray scales of the water-logged zones were measured in the digital image of aluminum honeycomb panel with different water volume conditional on the optimal exposure parameters. The result revealed that under the optimal exposure parameters of 80 kV and 3 mA•35 s, there was a significant linear correlation between the mean gray value of the water-logged zone and the height of aquifer. And with the fitting linear equation to calculate the height of aquifer, the errors were within 5% by comparing with the actual value, which verified the feasibility of assessment the water accumulation in composite aluminum honeycomb sandwich panel by CR.
