Abstract:
Vibration polishing and shot peening were carried out on TC4 alloy rocker, and the change of surface burr, ripple of tool marks, sharp edges rounding, surface roughness and residual stress were investigated. Finally, the effect of the two different processing methods on surface integrity of TC4 alloy rocker was analyzed. The results reveal the residual stress can be significantly increased by shot peening and vibration polishing. The roughness can be effectively reduced by the vibration polishing, but the effect is related to the size and shape of grains as well as processing time. The surface integrity of TC4 alloy rocker can be improved by reasonable shot peening and vibration polishing.
