    Failure Analysis of NC-170S Catalyst Combustion Sensors

    • 摘要: 催化燃烧传感器用于可燃气体分析,广泛应用于国民经济各领域.针对Nemoto公司生产的NC-170S催化燃烧传感器的情况进行了失效分析,包括寿命数据分析、外观检查、X-Ray分析、SEM/EDS分析等.结果表明:传感器的主要失效模式为铂丝应力断裂、催化剂硅中毒、电极硫化物腐蚀.针对这些失效模式提出了相应的改进措施,主要对生产加工工艺和软硬件设计进行了改进,并通过1年的质量跟踪证实改进措施有效,降低了产品故障率,提升了产品可靠性.

       

      Abstract: Catalyst combustion sensors are used for detection and analysis of flammable gas and they are widely used in many fields. In order to find out the common failure modes of NC-170S catalyst combustion sensors developed by Nemoto, life data analysis, appearance inspection, X-Ray analysis, and SEM/EDS analysis were carried out. The results show that stress breaking of platinum wire, poisoning of catalyst by silicon, and corrosion of electrode by sulfide are the main failure modes. Specific actions were performed towards these failure modes. The production processing and design of software and hardware were improved. Data gathered from the field for more than one year verified the effectiveness of the actions and the reliability was improved.
